So in the name of home security, I want to take the defensive, I want to install reed switches and route the wiring to the Arduino. The switches will be on all the doors and windows, If a door or window is opened, under specific conditions, either a text, email, or an alarm will go off.
I will need to use a pull up resistor as the contact will normally be closed as the door is shut the majority of the time.
I will have to use the digital read function to read the state of the reed switch.
